Merya Defana is a Clinical Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France. She graduated with honors in 2021 after completing a two-year program. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Cognitive Sciences. Merya is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the French Regional Health Authority.
Merya began her career as a psychologist by providing in-home interventions for children and young adults with autism. She then transitioned to a multidisciplinary centre where she worked with individuals of all ages facing various challenges.
Throughout her training, Merya primarily supported children with autism, ADHD, and learning disorders She has also gained experience working with the elderly and patients with chronic pain.
Merya enjoys working with children and teenagers who are struggling with a variety of challenges including anxiety and mood disorder. Her areas of expertise include autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disorders, providing comprehensive support to both children and their families. Merya employs an integrative approach to tailor her treatment plans to the unique needs of each individual, drawing from a variety of therapeutic techniques. Merya is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for young people and their families. She is sensitive to cultural differences and actively opposes all forms of discrimination.
